Just a quick painting of the kingfisher...

Common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is small european bird, which inhabits steep river banks. It needs fresh and clear water so it can see the fish beneath the surface (because it eats fish :) ). It nests in the ground, digging long tunnels in the sandy banks.

software: Corel painter 8.

i do like how your background color - almost the same as the birds body, actually enhances the image of the bird. and, i'd have thought, just the opposite. soooo much for too much thinking when it comes to good art.

Beautifully done! We have a 2-acre pond behind our house, and I often see kingfishers sitting on the phone line that stretches across. I love watching them.

Awesome work! The picture is very realistic and the colours are beautiful. The picture also looks unbelievably soft, there's something about the finsish that makes it resemble a painting done by traditional means so much that the viewer easily mistakes it to be one. :)

Just a quick painting? Woah. I think this one is really good. (Though I have seen some better ones in your gallery). You drawings are amazing. I'm impressed.
